A new resource: the Gold Museum blog
Sovereign Hill’s Gold Museum has recently started a blog to uncover their collection, share interesting behind-the scenes stories and also offer research tips and advice.
The first two posts are on topics very relevant to students learning about the gold rush. The Miner’s Rights Collection looks at the licensing system post-Eureka until present day. While Researching the World’s Largest Nuggets compares the largest gold nuggets ever found, include those on display at the Gold Museum that students can see as part of their excursion to Sovereign Hill.
This will be a great resource to use in history teaching, especially if you are looking at primary sources for learning about the gold rush.
